The Art of Our Stories

A devised, multimedia theatre production that served as the first ever collaboration between Brown Bag Theatre Company, Lucid Journal, Underground Scholars, and Ballet Folklorico.

With additional support from MEChA, this project used poetry written by the first-gen writers at Lucid Journal as the text for devised movement and readings performed by Brown Bag actors. This performance also included the Underground Scholars of UCI reading poetry and showing videos of reflection on their lives and their experience with the American prison system. Mixed in between these scenes were performances by the incredible Ballet Folklorico de UCI
